Ruth O Dwyer (Practice Midwife)
Ruth joined our clinic in September 2013 having returned home from Australia. After qualifying with an honours degree in General Nursing from UCC in 2008 Ruth worked for a period in the South Infirmary Victoria University Hospital Cork before emigrating to Australia in 2009. Her experience in Australia involved a variety of medical and surgical fields including community care in the Australian Outback. She completed an Honours Post Graduate Diploma in Midwifery and worked for two years in North Shore Private Maternity Hospital Sydney before returning to Ireland to join our clinic.
Ruth has a special interest in women's health. She is a certified smear taker with Cervical Check and fully competent in sexual health screening. Ruth provides antenatal care and education in our clinic with a particular focus on labour and birth.
Ruth is also on the front line of our developing fertility service and is currently undergoing further education in Medical Ultrasound. We hope to provide transvaginal ultrasounds as part of routine fertility screening, and follicular tracking as well as early pregnancy scans in our clinic in the coming months.
Ruth is a central figure in our holistic care environment here in the Cremore Clinic.
