DR. NUALA O'FARRELL

Dr Nuala O Farrell grew up in Glasnevin and attended Holy Faith Convent, Glasnevin, before studying medicine in University College Dublin. She studied paediatrics at post graduate level and spent two years working as a volunteer doctor in Zambia, Africa, before setting up “The Cremore Clinic” in 1990.

Dr O Farrell’s special interests are “Fertility” and the “Menopause”. She also has a special love of Paediatrics and Teenage Mental Health.

Dr O Farrell has been teaching general practice to post graduate doctors since 2003 and has in recent years also been lecturing in “Narrative Medicine”.

In her spare time Dr Nuala loves mountain walking, yoga and literature.

DR. FIONA DENNEHY

Dr Fiona Dennehy graduated from UCD in 1995. She came to The Cremore Clinic in 1999 after three years working in the west of Ireland. Fiona has always been interested in medical education and has been teaching medical students from RCSI as part of their augmented teaching programme since 2001.

She has been involved in post-graduate GP training for the North Dublin GP Scheme since 2013. Travel medicine was one of Fiona's first interests and she maintains that with nurse Deirdre in providing travel advice and vaccinations. Fiona lives locally, is immersed in her local community which includes Na Fianna GAA Club and Bohemian Football Club where she has been the club doctor since 2014. She has a special interest also in the deaf community and has level 3 in ISL. Tá suim mhor sa ghaeilge aici.

DR. IAIN MORRISON

Dr Iain, from Dublin, qualified from Trinity College in 1998 where he always wanted to follow a career in General Practice and finished his MICGP (General Practice training) in 2002. He was delighted to join The Cremore Clinic in 2004 after working in New Zealand as a GP for a year and other Practices in Ireland. He became a partner in 2007.

His particular areas of interest are in Men’s Health and Sexual Health screening and as proud member of the LGBTQ community would strive to be inclusive of members of the community for this. He also has worked in and has a diploma in Diabetes Care and has a strong interest in Chronic Disease Management. He has developed an interest in Occupational Medicine and has a developing interest in Sports and Exercise Medicine. The latter stems from his keen interest in athletics. He coaches middle and long distance athletes in Trinity College Dublin as well as being very involved with his athletics club Donore Harriers.

He enjoys teaching the next generation of doctors and is a G.P. tutor for students in Trinity College Dublin.

DR. SARAH LAWLER

Dr Sarah Lawler graduated from RCSI in 2005 and has been working in The Cremore Clinic since 2013 when she completed GP training with the UCD Mid-Leinster Training Scheme gaining a MICGP qualification.

She holds a RCPI diploma in Obstetrics and Women’s Health and a certificate in Medical Ultrasound specialising in Gynaecology and Early Pregnancy Ultrasound from the University of Bournemouth.

She has a special interest in women’s health, in particular Fertility Assessments and helping women conceive with Ovulation Induction, ovarian follicle tracking and use of timed sexual intercourse if needed. Her other interests include Contraception Counselling and insertion of long-acting contraceptive devices such as Mirenas, Kyleenas, Copper Coils, and Implanon Insertion, treatment of STI's, Menopause Management and minor surgical procedures.

Sarah gained valuable experience in Internal Medicine after graduation in Dublin hospitals passing MRCPI exams in 2008, followed by a year as an RCSI medical tutor before pursuing training in her chosen field of General Practice and is committed to enhancing and maintaining optimum health for her patients.

DR. CATHERINE O'NEILL

Following an initial degree in Radiotherapy in Trinity College, Dr Catherine O’ Neill studied Medicine in the University of Aberdeen in Scotland, completing her degree in 2009. She worked in Edinburgh for two years following this, in the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and other hospital sites. She then moved to Glasgow for a year, working in a Hospice for 6 months and then the Glasgow Western Infirmary and Gartnavel Hospitals.

In 2012 she accepted a place on the RCSI GP Scheme in Dublin and completed her GP training in 2016.

She has worked in Dunboyne and Ardee GP surgeries before joining the team in The Cremore Clinic in February 2019.

Dr Catherine has a variety of different clinical interests. She has a Diploma in Women’s Health from the Royal College of Gynaecology and Obstetrics in the UK. She also holds the European Certificate in Palliative Care. She hopes to further develop her interest in Dermatology in the coming years.

DEIRDRE FLANAGAN

Deirdre joined the practice in 2003 and is the longest-serving practice nurse in the surgery. Deirdre trained in the Meath and National Children’s Hospital and graduated with a dual qualification in general and children’s nursing in 1982. Deirdre moved to the UK after graduation where she worked as a staff nurse for a number of years in Brighton General Hospital and gained experience in a variety of medical and surgical fields.

In 1989 Deirdre returned to Ireland and took up a position in the Meath Hospital and subsequently upon its closure in Tallaght Hospital where she continued to expand her experience in Acute Medical and Surgical Care and also worked for two years in the challenging environment of the accident and Emergency Care Department.

Deirdre has been a pivotal person in the development of The Cremore Clinic Nursing Services. She is an accredited smear taker with The National Cervical Check Programme. She has an interest in Travel Medicine. Deirdre is also a central figure in our delivery of the Diabetes Cycle of Care Program to our elegise patients with type 2 diabetes

MARY-ROSE HALPIN

Mary-Rose joined our practice in 2018 and came to us with a wealth of knowledge in care of the older person. Mary-Rose worked in a large and diverse nursing home where she started out as Staff Nurse and climbed through the ranks to Assistant Director of Nursing. Mary-Rose is passionate in her belief of caring for the whole person, respecting each individual’s strengths and addressing their needs in a compassionate way.

Mary-Rose graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2011 with an Honours Degree in General Nursing. From there Mary-Rose gained experience in Orthopaedic Trauma Nursing and has a particular interest in wound care.

Since joining The Cremore Clinic Mary-Rose has completed the Smear takers course with RCSI and is a registered Smear taker with Cervical Check. Mary-Rose has also completed a course in Sexually Transmitted Infections. Mary-Rose is keen to broaden her knowledge of Practice Nursing and to bring her specialist knowledge in caring for the older person to The Cremore Clinic.

VIJAY ANAND GOPAL

Vijay Anand Gopal is a Chartered Physiotherapist with over nineteen years of experience working with a wide range of conditions while specialising in Orthopaedics, Dry needling and Musculoskeletal problems. Vijay has been a successful Physiotherapist helping patients to rehabilitate and optimise their bodies health. He treats spinal and joint problems, trauma and sports injuries and has extensive experience in treating sporting injuries.

Vijay came to Ireland in 2006 and joined The Cremore team in August 2012. Vijay is also a qualified Phlebotomist and on busy days he provides an extra service in the clinic taking bloods.

Vijay is an active playing member of Clontarf Cricket Club and is extremely passionate about cricket. He plays for the Leinster Senior Cricket Team and All Ireland Leagues.
