Dorothy is a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist and a fully accredited Member of IAHIP (Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy). As a humanistic and Integrative therapist, Dorothy draws on many therapeutic approaches in her clinical practice including Person Centered Psychotherapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, while also incorporating aspects of CBT and the therapeutic benefits of Mindfulness exercises. Working from an integrative perspective enables her to meet the therapeutic needs of each individual client.
Central to Dorothy's clinical practice is the therapeutic relationship and the creation of a safe, confidential and non judgmental space in which a client can explore their presenting issues, such as depression, anxiety, self esteem issues, bereavement and loss, trauma, abuse, interpersonal relationships and psychological distress.
As a Psychotherapist working in the Dept of Psychology and Psychotherapy at St. James's Hospital, Dorothy has gained extensive experience working therapeutically with individuals and also as a group facilitator. Dorothy has been part of the Cremore Clinic Team since July 2014 where she provides Individual Counselling and Psychotherapy, by appointment on Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday (2-8pm).
