Dr. Iain Morrison
Iain native of Dublin qualified from Trinity College in 1998 where he always wanted to follow a career in General practice and qualified as a G.P. with the Eastern Regional Vocational Training Scheme in 2002. He worked short term in a number of East Coast based practices and then spent a year working as a G.P. in New Zealand in a large Group Practice. This was a formative year and invaluable professionally broadening experience. He was delighted to join the Cremore Clinic in 2004 and found a practice that was warm and friendly and that prided itself on the best of care medically and psychologically for its patients. He had to stay.
He has a particular interest in the areas of Men's Health and Sexual Health including STIs and also in Diabetes and Chronic Health disease Management. In recent years he has developed an interest in Occupational medicine and is currently undertaking further studies towards specialist qualification in this regard. He also, like all of our doctors enjoys teaching the next generation of Physicians and is a G.P. Tutor with Trinity College Medical School in their 1st year and 4th year teaching programmes.
He has been very active in local G.P. further education and was Secretary and Chair of our academic Faculty in North Dublin and a member of Council for the Irish College of General Practitioners. He is currently Chair of the G.P. local liaison Committee with the Mater Hospital, trying to improve communications and quality of care for patients between hospital and General Practice.
He has several other passions in his life, principally athletics which he developed in College and has now returned as Coach to the Trinity College middle and long distance team. He has also had long association with Donore Harriers Athletics club as an athlete Captain and coach. He also has a keen interest in politics... so don't get him started...!!
